The Class 614 Hydrogen Multiple Unit fleet is made up of only one unit, 614209, converted from a retired class 314, unit 209. At the present, the train sits dormant with no way of movement as it has been stripped of its fuel cells and pantograph. It was unit 314209 which I have been in multiple times as I have grown up beside the Cathcart Circle where I would take these almost every day into Glasgow Central. They always had some sort of charm that all the other trains didn't have, may it be the SPT carmine and cream livery, or the nonexistent tables with a sign saying 'DO NOT PUT YOUR FEET ON THE SEAT'. Anyways it was sad to see these go but I am happy they have not scrapped this as it is a massive part of the history of our railways and a staple in engineering, with its hydrogen technology.
